After passing through Donnington, we continued along our path through sweeping fields in the direction of Upper Swell. The views and the weather continued to be exceptional.
On our way toward Upper Swell, we passed the striking and beautiful Donnington Brewery which supplies the local pubs with Donnington Ales. We remembered seeing these on sale in The Fox earlier in the walk.
The small settlement of Lower Swell was so pretty. The architecture in these Cotswold villages is not difficult to admire.
After passing through the village and walking south, we predictably arrived in the Village of Lower Swell where we stopped at The Golden Ball to have a drink in the sunny beer garden
After an extremely pleasant drink we left Lower Swell and began the trek back up the hill toward Stow-on-the-Wold. We followed the footpath up the hill and enjoyed the views as we did.
We arrived back in Stow just as evening was drawing and walked back to the car through the town centre.
Thanks for joining us. Hope you enjoyed the walk. Let’s hope we get similar weather on future walks. We thoroughly enjoyed our visits to the Cotswolds when we stopped at Bourton-on-the-Water, Minchinhampton and Blockley as well. If you enjoyed this walk you will also enjoy our walk along the Cotswold Way from Wotton-under-Edege to Old Sodbury and our Castle Combe circular from last summer.
Thanks for reading and keep exploring.
