On the Horizon: Severn and Thames Way

It is so good to have time off work! We have lots of walking arranged and lots more things to show you coming up in the next two weeks.

Next weekend we will be embarking on another two-day adventure. Starting at the tiny village of Framilode on the banks of the Severn, we will be following the Severn and Thames Way inland down the Frome valley, picking up the Stroudwater Canal and following it to Stroud for an overnight stay. The next day we will continue East out of Stroud down the Golden Valley following the Severn and Thames Way and finishing in Kemble near Cirencester after passing the source of the River Thames.

This is the beginning of a large series of walks in which we will be, bit by bit, walking the River Thames in its entirety on the Thames Path National Trail.

We are really exciting about revisiting this brilliantly scenic part of the country. We have walked very close to Framilode before when we walked the Gloucester and Sharpness Canal which took us through Saul Junction which we will revisit on this walk.

We were also overlooking the Golden Valley when we recently visited Michinhampton and its beautiful common.

We also have more canal walking plans and more of the Cotswold Way to do.

Thanks for reading and keep exploring!

Best Regards,

Adam & Harriet
